As Program Lead, Soomin co-designs and facilitates YCL's programs and workshops. She is most involved in YCL's work to make climate finance and policy more accessible for youth people.

Driven by her passion for climate justice, Soomin is committed to working towards a more equitable and climate-resilient future at the intersections of policy, art, and advocacy. She is pursuing her Masters of Public Policy at McGill University and has led efforts to advance climate justice and equitable decision-making spaces both nationally and internationally by developing UN Climate Change Adaptation Division’s youth engagement strategy, leading a climate motion during her time working on Parliament Hill, serving on the board of directors for The Starfish Canada and CPAWS MB, and acting as the North American representative on the Global Center on Adaptation’s CEO Youth Advisory Panel. With her work rooted in intersectionality, youth engagement, and community, she was named Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 in Canada.
