In 2023, Youth Climate Lab (YCL) had the privilege of attending the United Nations Climate Change Conference or Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC - more commonly referred to as COP28. Held at Expo City in Dubai from November 30 - December 12 2023, our team had the opportunity to connect with partners and youth from around the world with the goal of making the conference as accessible as possible for a youth audience.
We attended COP28 alongside our dynamic delegation of YCL team members and inspiring youth leaders. By bringing together impassioned youth climate leaders from diverse backgrounds across the globe, the team below focused on fostering impactful partnerships, amplifying the youth voices of the conference and engaging in collaborate conversation to create intersectional solutions.
OUR DELEGATES’ REFLECTIONS ON COP28
“Young people showed up! The presence and impact of youth activists at COP28 was particularly noteworthy. Their passion and determination served as a powerful reminder that the fight against the climate crisis belongs to current and future generations.”
- Kevin J. Patel
“As an 18-year-old food activist, COP28 was a pivotal moment in my advocacy journey… My highlight was the unveiling of the food declaration, endorsed by 130 countries. This symbolized the largest collective drive to transform food systems in the history of COP.”
- Dev Sharma
Thank you to all of our partners who are helping the Youth Climate Lab team make sure COP28 is as impactful as possible!
