NICK KOOTNIKOFF

TREASURER, BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Nick Kootnikoff, CPA leverages his financial and partnership expertise with a goal to bridge gaps often seen between finance and programs teams in organizations. As a Senior Adviser for WUSC, an international development NGO focused on building a better world for young people with a focus on women and refugees, he supports WUSC’s partnership with the Equality Fund, a feminist fund that is accelerating the power of women, girls, and trans people globally.

Nick works with their grantmaking team to strengthen systems and improve contractual, regulatory, and financial compliance, all while shifting power to partners via more equitable partnerships. He previously worked with CARE Canada in diverse roles and represented CARE International as a civil society observer to the Canadian COP22 delegation in Marrakech and at Green Climate Fund Board meetings.  Nick holds an MBA in International Organizations Management from the University of Geneva, a BCom in Entrepreneurial Management from Royal Roads University, and is a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) with public, private, and non-profit experience.

Now a hobby, Nick draws on skills gained in his first career as a chef and works to keep family and friends well fed and happy!
