We are providing $500 (per person) for individuals interested in researching and creating an educational resource for an anti-colonial education platform, called Righting History (RH). This platform is created by the climate justice organization, Shake Up The Establishment. These educational resources are meant to be tools for critical inquiry, collective healing, and political imagination, and will live on our website/be promoted across our platforms with full credit to their creators.
This year's theme is Lessons from Movements Before Ours: Sharing Stories Necessary for our Future.
We welcome educational resource proposals that explore:
Lessons and tactics from movements for racial, gender, economic, and environmental justice
Theories and modes of organizing informed by Indigenous sovereignty, abolitionist organizing, disability justice, queer/trans liberation
Strategies to address polarization, disinformation, facism and propaganda
Links between historical movements and today’s struggles for equity and systemic change

Municipal Climate Intern
Environmental Leadership Canada
The Municipal Climate Internship (MCI) provides young environmental leaders, age 18-30, with the opportunity to work and learn alongside municipalities invested in advancing local climate change solutions. Successful applicants to the program receive a six-month paid internship placement with a host municipality and take part in cohort-based leadership and professional development.
Through the MCI program, interns will gain first-hand experience and knowledge in municipal climate issues, solutions, and local decision-making. Interns will be exposed to various municipal government and political processes and will become well-versed in how climate change is integrated into municipal planning. The knowledge, experience and professional skills gained will help prepare participants for careers as local climate leaders.
Most interns will perform a variety of tasks for their municipality. This could include researching municipal climate mitigation or adaptation solutions, planning for stakeholder engagement events, coordinating and taking minutes at meetings, preparing information needed for a presentation at a council meeting, compiling information for GHG emissions inventories, conducting waste audits, creating communications materials and writing or updating reports on climate action plans. Tasks will vary between municipalities and may encompass a wide variety of opportunities depending on their needs.

This role involves actioning outreach strategies developed by the team, assisting in the creation of outreach materials, coordinating events, and communicating with community partners and contacts. To effectively perform these duties, candidates must be based in the Belleville/Quinte West area to participate in regular in-person events and team meetings.

Cuso will provide small grants of up to $5,000 to Indigenous Youth Leaders (ages 15-30) to support projects taking place in Northern Canada. Youth Leaders (Grantees) will receive mentorship, training, and capacity-building to support the implementation of the project.

Research Coordinator
Indigenous Climate Action is seeking a confident, proactive individual to fill the role of the Research Coordinator. The Research Coordinator will be responsible for building and maintaining collaborative relationships, conducting relevant research, and supporting the development of community-driven knowledge and analysis to inform Indigenous-led climate solutions. They will play a key role in developing research tools and resources, supporting ICA’s community-driven research priorities, and ensuring that all research is grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems and guided by community leadership.
The Research Coordinator reports to the Research and Policy Manager. In addition, the Research Coordinator may be required to contribute to the design, writing, analysis and coordinating across multiple projects and initiatives.

Relay Education utilizes science-based learning in all of our programs. Relay’s programming is delivered to educate students about science curriculum-linked topics, such as electricity, energy resources, conservation, and career building. In this role, the successful candidate will work primarily with elementary and secondary students in classrooms throughout GTA schools to lead workshops about renewable energy technology, such as wind turbines and solar panels. Indigenous Climate Action (ICA) is excited to relaunch its Indigenous Youth Wellness Honorarium! These honorariums are intended for Indigenous Youth engaged in frontline activism and/or climate justice organizing. At ICA we know that financial and mental health barriers often impact Indigenous Peoples when engaging in climate justice work. By creating this fund we hope to remove some of those barriers that come up when upholding our sacred responsibilities.
