Director of Communications and Digital Media

Are you a young person who is passionate about communications, digital media, climate action and youth empowerment? We would love for you to join our team.

This exciting opportunity will allow you to play a leading role in shaping Youth Climate Lab’s communication strategy and lead a digital campaign to mobilize youth around ambitious climate action.

About the Role:

The selected applicant will play a key role in co-creating a dynamic, bilingual 6-month digital campaign with La Rue Inspire to mobilize youth-led momentum for the low-carbon transition. Additionally, the selected applicant will support and strengthen Youth Climate Lab’s communications strategy and overall digital presence.

Specifically, this will include:

  • Co-creating a bilingual digital campaign

  • Reviewing and updating Youth Climate Lab’s communications strategy

  • Developing and leading Youth Climate Lab’s social media presence 

  • Managing a team of 4-5 volunteers

  • Content development

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

We are seeking for self-driven, energized, impact-focused applicants who:

  • Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and organization

  • Is able to take initiative, be flexible, and work well under uncertainty

  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Is a quick learner with great problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated interest in social/environmental issues

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is a requirement

Experience:

  • Leading and/or contributing to digital marketing campaigns

  • Developing and/or contributing to a corporate communications strategy

  • Management of social media platforms (Hootsuite)

    • Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn

  • MailChimp experience is considered an asset

  • Content development
