Compensation: $30,000 CAD
Length of Contract: Full-Time, 8 months with possibility of extension

Director of Business Development and Operations

Are you a young person who is passionate about business development, day to day operations of an organization, project management, climate action and youth empowerment?  We would love for you to join our team.

This exciting opportunity will allow you to play a pivotal role in Youth Climate Lab’s growth and expansion by supporting the organizational and business development (nationally and internationally) and provide support to the operations and project management to further youth engagement in climate action. 

We are recruiting for a Director of Business Development and Operations with a strong background in business development, operational experience, and project management.

About the Role:

The selected applicant will play a key role in supporting the operations, project management, and business development with our growing team. 

Specifically, this will include:

  • Working directly with the Executive Director in the growth and expansion programs and partners. 

  • Working directly with the Managing Director on the operations of the organization, including human resources, communications and governance. The selected candidate will work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency on existing policies and  processes.

  • Overseeing the finances of the organization with the support of our external bookkeeping team. This includes budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

We are seeking for self-driven, energized, impact-focused applicants who:

  • Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation and organization

  • Is able to take initiative, be flexible, and work well under uncertainty

  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Is a quick learner with great problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated interest in social and environmental issues


  • Business and/or finance background (undergraduate degree)

  • Demonstrated project management experience

  • Operational management 

  • International business experience is considered an asset

  • Non-profit experience is considered an asset

  • Bilingualism is considered an asset
