Working at the nexus of climate, energy, and economy, Brendan’s career has spanned academia and the private, public, and non-profit sectors. His work and research focus on the policy and politics of climate change, energy systems, and the low-carbon transition. Brendan brings deep policy expertise to Youth Climate Lab’s operations, with a specific focus on improving youth policy literacy and expanding the organization’s reach across a number of channels. Brendan is currently a Senior Associate and Acting Research Director at the University of Ottawa’s Institute for Science, Society & Policy. He was previously a Research Associate at Canada’s Ecofiscal Commission, and has also held research and analytical roles at Natural Resources Canada, the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy, and in Alberta’s oil and gas sector. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Calgary.
